About me

I am a qualified counsellor, with experience of working both in private practice and in counselling agencies, previously in London and now in Newcastle.

I work in an integrative way, which means that I aim to tailor the counselling to suit each individual client using a variety of approaches in an holistic way, looking at the whole person. I offer both short-term and long-term face-to-face counselling for individuals.

I incorporate regular reviews into our counselling work, so that there are opportunities to take stock, check how you feel your counselling is going, re-evaluate any goals you may have set, and what the way forward might be.

I have a particular interest in working with trauma-related issues, including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Dissociative Disorders.

I have in the past, worked as a qualified music therapist and have extensive experience in that field too, and am able to bring the benefits of that experience to my counselling work.

I have run my own business and been self-employed for over 20 years and so have a good understanding of the pressures associated with that.

I am a Registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists, and I abide by their ethical framework.  I am also a Registered member of the Association of Christian Counsellors.  I hold a current DBS check.
